The official "I got my AF100" thread

i did sound on a shoot wednesday with an af100 and Gh2. They belonged to DVXuser Keukio(sp?) Brett Mullen

af100 was on a teleprompter with Olympus 14-35 lens and GH2 had a nikon 80-200. smallhd was moved to GH2 for monitoring and a bigger monitor hooked to AF100. As a sound guy, I enjoyed working with the AF100. just hooked up my ENG snake to camera (at line level), ran tone(recorded it and played back, just to make sure no VFR gotchas). and off we went. MKH60 on boom and sanken cos11 lectro wireless going into my PSC mixer.

Searched af100 under shopping.
Ad said "in stock, very limited ".

Took a chance ordering online after hours.
Got that email bout an hour later.

Got mine three days ago but got the Nikon adapter today, tested y first clip with Carl Zeiss 50m 1.4 the footage is absolutely fantastic, played with color and has better lattitude than expected and also looks great on my 42inck panny panel. I'm a happy man.

A few questions to the Canadian(s) who have received their order from the states. I just got a call from FedEx asking if they may broker my package at the border, should I do this or arrange other means? It is my first time ordering a big ticket item from the states and have heard some horror stories about fees.

I'm a little late to chime in here, but if the package is flown in, brokerage is free. Driven is another story. I found this out from UPS.

Just placed my order today from B&H... I wonder how long it will take to get here... ANY IDEAS ON THAT? I LOVE waiting... But my other stuff, comes Wednesday. 14-140mm lens, Bower Nikon to M4/3 adapter (for my zeiss zf 35, 50, 85mm lenses), 4 16gb sdhc cards, extra battery... Not many reviews on the Bower mount but, looks very similar to some others.

Panasonic says wait until the end of January for shipments to make it to the dealers, so I guess we have to wait.

Mines on it's way! Shipped today. Couldn't wait Pana Canada to get their stuff together so they lost a Canadian customer here. Cant wait to get my cam and Barry's book (that still works even though I'm in Canada right?)
