The official "I got my AF100" thread

Andy is absolutely right here, it is an old rule of economics, Nobody gets it if there ain't none. More are coming soon.

Best,

Jan

My post never mentioned Abel, but ok.
I'm not referencing the basic laws of supply and demand. We get that.
My point or problem was with the lack of communication, mixed messages and bad information.
Felt like I was being packed, stacked and racked just to move a unit without regard to actual delivery times.
I'm in line somewhere else now...no biggie.

A few questions to the Canadian(s) who have received their order from the states. I just got a call from FedEx asking if they may broker my package at the border, should I do this or arrange other means? It is my first time ordering a big ticket item from the states and have heard some horror stories about fees.

regarding some earlier posts, let's keep this thread on topic -- the purpose of which is for proud fathers to show off their pride and joy and the discussion around taking receipt of the camera. Please refrain from using it to post grievances. if you have something to discuss with a dealer, just call them and settle it over the phone.

Bend over and let them do it. It'll cost you, but do you have time to run around and figure it out on your own? The only thing I think you'll end up paying is Broker fees and GST.

Midcan In Winnipeg just sent out its AF100 on its first rental.
Hope to see our other 4 cameras in by weeks end.....

I can understand the 'Peg getting cameras before Toronto - we've got to give you something. ;) Waiting patiently for 2.

I picked up my AF100 Monday from Abel Cine in Burbank. I got the Novaflex Nikon mount for my existing primes but I'm about to get the 4/3 to micro 4/3 mount and the Olympus 14-35 f/2 Zuiko lens.

Looks like we have to wait until the end of the month before Panasonic is shipping any more Cameras in Canada (according to my dealer)

so..............any recommendations for new orders at this point? Wheres a good place to go, that has a shorter waiting list

not sure I should out them here, but they are in Toronto and it's not Vistek or Cinequip so you guys may still have a shot at earlier :)

Unfortunately not mine

Unfortunately not mine

Here are some pictures of an AF101.

Ordered from an reseller in Germany arrived on monday.

I also noticed the moving focus although there´s no action in front of the cam. The recorded stuff seems a little bit to noisy (imho). But the aliasing performance is great.

Oklahoma City is now infected by the AF-100 virus. My cam is sitting on the loading dock at UPS. 24 hours to go before delivery.

Got mine in from HB Communications today, one day early (thanks FedEx!). Many thanks to David at HB for his help in finding and getting an AF100 to me.
