The new IMDb layout

If I find that 9 out of 10 businesses are doing what they do for money...

...I know that I have come across one lousy businessman.

Screw the layout. IMDB and the Hollywood Reporter have banded together to make it harder to get listed on IMDB and in the trades. That's what I don't like.

You'd think in a time where making movies is so much easier and cheaper than ever, it would be easier to be listed on IMDb.

Maybe they only want "real" movies?

What's a "real" movie?

And don't you think that they have to be very picky with what they chose? Actually, I don't really think that it is that difficult, I mean, if you prove that the film is out there (yes, even youtube counts), and that you have presented it in one or two festivals (provide web links), you can get it listed. I did exactly that and this is the result:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1619023/

I guess they want you to prove that the film is worth being listed, if you make a film that will just be stored on your hardrive....well, they don't like that.

Another whole different world is being listed before the film is out.....

Nathyn, what sort of things have IMDB and THR done to make the listing process more difficult, for you?
So far they've denied listing MARIANNE despite it being in post production and the fact that we have established actors like Thomas Hedengran, Tintin Anderzon and a big name like Peter Stormare.
The reason is that it's my first IMDb cred as writer, director and producer and it's not yet been accepted to a film festival or by a distributor (since it's still in post).
