hiya! thanks fellas

yea, i stole from Stephen Chow :)

but i developed his idea a lot more and there are mechanics to how the stuff works....

very interesting idea, i am intrigued. let us know when you get a trailer or some footage posted. what effects are you doing? lightning bolts from the hands and flames from the guitars?

good DOF on those closeups. does it all take place outdoors? i assume natural lighting on all of these grabs? where did you film?

Looks really sweet, Young. I'm a big fan of your work. Been reading your blog for a while now and am always interested in hearing about your upcoming projects (how's the Streetfighter thing going?).

Stephen Chow is one of the most original filmmakers on the planet. When being inspired and influenced, you could do a heck of a lot worse.

I can't wait to see the finished film. Great Job!

Your a very productive guy man!
Coming out with stuff left and right.
Am a big fan of Taiwanese cinema btw, Hou Hsiao-hsien etc... much slower pace, but still... Asia brings a fresh wind to cinema.

heya

lyons-den: yah man, stuff comes out of the musical instruments, im not really sure what yet, but lightning bolts is one thing, all this is shot outdoors with natural light at the coolest places I can find in Maryland

Supertrooper - yoyo! i thought you dissapeared!! welcome back, thanks man good to see you back

franck - thanks, actually I am hoping to meet the guy who made "What time is it over there"....forgot his name for now

bspidy - yea bro, sooner or later!

Just watched the 80 second trailer. Wow! Maryland is one beautiful place. Not quite how I had pictured it in my mind.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get Sally's costume from? It's quite striking. Is it a personal family item, or did you rent it out or something? I'm looking into a similar design that would be perfect for a short I plan on directing at the end of the year.

Be sure to keep us posted on your progress. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all pans out. Works in progress are always fun to follow.

Eyes of NY - hey, there isn't really anything special about my settings. It's as normal as you get, what I did however was do some color correcting in Magic Bullet. I used Curahee. The yellowish pics below were done in Vegas color corrector

Hi Super Trooper
Sally owns a few kimonos (japanese) and the red thing she wore with the black skirt is a pui go (chinese - i think thats how you spell it) - its something you can find in chinatown or other online stores.

heh, MD is rather plain in most areas...but we do have a few really lovely places

peace

thanks Young-H. Lee,

I enjoyed that scene. You know though the music helps alot and matches perfectly, although since its from "In The Mood For Love" (or was it "2046" perhaps?) are you just using it right now for as temp music? That really sells the scene well, you'll need to come up with something similar in the finished product I assume...

hey thanks lyons-den

yeap, it was 2046

actually this film is just for my own fun and practice, i dont intend to enter it into any festivals so im just gonna use it.
