The more interesting latter half of Celery

There are those of you who have seen some scenes from "Celery" - most recently in this thread http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=82183.

Many of you disliked the scene for various stylistic reasons, but as you've heard (read, rather) me say, it's a very esoteric film and the scene is way out of context.

So for those of you interested, i have posted the last 10 mins of the film. Unfortunately it will not put the Diner scene into any sort of context, but the general consensus is that it's the best sequence of the film. I would love for yout to watch it and tell me what you think. The scene in the car has been posted in this forum before (to those it looks familiar to). The sound is not done.

To set it up a little bit, the black men are fictional characters and the white guy is a screenwriter. Please leave feedback.
Thanks,
-Mike

Framing wasn't that great, half the time the characters either had too much headroom or not enough, and the nose room seemed arbitrary. Plus a lot of your shots were locked off--you might want to consider loosening those lock-off knobs and adjusting the framing for the actors' movement. Just my $.02 as the kids say.

Hmmmm... I'm not sure if I want to watch the LAST ten minutes of any film. I'm the type of guy that likes to go to a movie without knowing anything about it, and hope for a pleasant surprise. If someone give's away an ending, or even a key scene, they usually get a punch in the nose ;)

I'll wait till others respond (besides HappyGogo's quick, rather undetailed comment), then I may check it out.

EDIT: Eh... give me till later, I'll check it out. I know you could use the feedback.

the last 10 seconds was by far your best best part. the lighting when she got up from bed, and him coming from the doorway were the only parts that i would concider Cinematic, and beautifuly shot and lit. framing there was excellent as well.

Your actors in the car scene were very very natural, i liked them alot, the only thing that was weak was the lighting, even though i understand the difficulty of lighting scenes like that, still could have done a little more on that aspect.

What are "lock-off knobs"?

Well I really dig this kind of movie...

From the other scene that I watched and this one... the story telling style is something I'm attracted to.

But as i stated in my other post, some of the acting feels over-cooked.

It's hard for me to comment on just a couple scenes, but they're pretty good... I definately see potential for some CC... crush the blacks a little more which will give it more of a film look.

I'd like to review the entire movie... and until I can see the whole thing there really isn't much more that I can say.

But I really like this style of story telling.

I actually quite enjoyed this last 10 minutes, particularly the stuff with the black guys stealing the car, I thought their interaction and dialogue with each other was very natural and funny. As people have said before some of the lighting and framing was a bit off but when you're in a rush to shoot everything in time, slip ups like this are always going to happen.

Whilst we don't know any of this within the context of the story I still found it entertaining and was put together really well, I think I laughed hardest when the first guy gets up off the bench and the other asks him what about the dog and he says "Man f*ck that big b*tch!", I don't know if it's just me but I found that hilarious :)
