SHORT: The Lucky One - 24 Hour Short Film Entry

Hey guys,
FC here again wanting to share another short film we made titled, THE LUCKY ONE. This one was for a 24 hour film festival competition we learned about at the last minute. It was a hectic day and night but we got it in on time with 20 minutes to spare!


This film is exactly 5mins (Contest rules) and we I hope you enjoy it.

I really enjoyed it, man. The cinematography and editing were great and the story was compelling as well. I like that the ending is largely left open to interpretation. You could read it to be a biblical reference as one of the comments on the Youtube page pointed out ("I saw this relating to scripture where Jesus himself says, if you hate your brother you have murdered him in your heart. Very well executed film and brilliant story."). However, I took the main character saying "I think I'm the lucky one" to mean that he realized his gift was an ability to perceive and feel joy and love in such a profound way. True, the ugliness of an imagined attack is something he is forced to experience because of his powerful imagination, but he was also able to see the happiness that both people felt in such a beautiful way.

It was nice to watch.

One question I have: does it has 99% of music in it because the music composer wanted to "push" his "creation" ?

No it was made this way and silenced other tracks to intensify the dark imaginary in the characters head. thanks for watching!

I see, because sometimes the sound is "deleted" because it was not so good recorded....

But I think it could be good if we heared what the character is hearing, like the guy taling to the girl maybe and some laughing ? I can't tell you because I'm not "in" to it...But I think you know what I mean...

For example: a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long shot of 2 people that we hear talking very clearly and then an extreme close up of a guy watching, so we know we hear what the guy is hearing.. That kind of stuff...

Well we take some very serious. It's 50% of a film, I just felt however for this film however it was an artistic approach. thanks for commenting tho!

Nice color correction, editing and camera shots...the attention to telling a great visual story was noticed and did well...props

Now was the bald guy her Ex boyfriend or just a lonely crazy guy who wanted to split up a happy couple??

He is her current bf who caught her cheating but decides a different approach to handling it. However it can be interrupted in many different ways. thanks for watching!
