"The Lens Is Not Attached Properly"

Suddenly none of my lens adapters, all of which worked before, are not working. My GH1 is powering on and after 15 seconds I get the error message: "THE LENS IS NOT ATTACHED PROPERLY"

I know about the "shoot without lens" setting. It's on. I've tried every adapter --- 3 c mount adapters, all of which worked before, and 1 canon eos/m43 adapter. Nothing.

Searching the forums shows that this issue tends to occur when the pin on the mount is not making full contact with the receiver in the lens adapter. Except on the c-mount adapter the pin slot is exposed on the side and I can _See_ it making perfect contact with the adapter... I'm worried this is a software issue??

Has anyone else ever encountered a terminal case of "Lens not attached properly" and had to get their camera serviced under warranty?

I may have to send mine in to get fixed, but the problem is, I need it for a shoot this Friday...

Please tell me there's a solution... I've tried changing lens/adapters/shoot w/lo lens setting 100 times..

Thank you!

If you just set it down... turn it on and after 15 seconds it says that? odd...

What about the kit lens?

I know my lens release button is very sensitive - brushing up against it while focusing I get the message...

What mode are you in? I found if you set it to iA mode with an adapter it does that, but you probably knew that. I wonder if there is some setting where it is trying to set the aperture and it can't communicate with the lens? Otherwise, maybe it is a software glitch.

Hey, might sound weird, but i happened to have had the same exact problem (at least as u describe it) starting on sunday night. Was raining in San Francisco on sunday but i went out for a walk, with my gh1 secured in a pocket of my gore-tex jacket (try to do that with a canon :) thanks 20mm pancake). Thought it was the safest way to protect it from the rain, but obviously not, i guess condensation did its work inside the jacket (event thought its gore tex...).
Anyway when i wanted to use the camera later on at night, it started to give me some static interferences, autofocus refused to work, then i got the message sayin that the lens wasnt properly attached... tried all my lenses, adapters, no differences... still had that same thing yesterday morning, so i tried to give it time to dry (all hatches opened, a silica gel bag to help)...
Turned it back on this morning, works like a charm :)
anyway i doubt u guys had rain last weekend down in LA, so i'm not sure my experience will help... just odd that i had the same problem right around that time thats all, so i had to share... hope u'll find a way to fix your problem.
peace

I've had the same problem with the canon fd adapters that I bought from QualityLens on ebay. Sent it away on UPS and am hoping to get my money back this week. I've heard nothing good from cieco7 adapters, so I'm most likely going to buy that.

Ive had this happen to me a few days ago once or twice but just turning the lens a little bit and it disappeared, seemed definately like a connection problem. Was very brief though but wanted to share here in case this is a wider spread issue.

I've been having this problem recently when using an FD lens and a cheap eBay adapter. I reckon something isn't locating correctly but at the time I was having issues, it was a very hot humid day (yes we sometimes get them in the UK) and I was filming waterfalls. It was so bad, the lens was steaming up - so, poor engineering of the adapter or humidity - not sure which.
