That lighting practice is really paying off, these are looking great. I'll definitely be looking to buy a copy when it's done.

There are some really solid images in there, especially considering the budget.

That house looks like a goldmine of good imagery, man.

You've come quite a ways! Have fun finishing everything up.

edit here: you know, I was gonna leave it at that but I think this material has some serious potential. So, I'll say one thing...

When you go to do the actual trailer, maybe partner up with someone that's experienced with trailer editing. You may be surprised what that will do for you.

Still, good work.

Thanks a ton! Great Advice. I will have to look into that!

Around about the same time as you were starting on this I finally signed up to DVXUser after lurking for a while. I've followed your progress through the forums since then and it is amazing to see the results of all your questions staring back at me from the trailer. The location looks fantastic, you got the paper to burn, the lighting is working for you. Knowing some of what has been going on behind the scenes and the challenges you have faced makes it easy to see what you have achieved but I agree with Kholi, the trailer doesn't do it justice for the uninitiated. I thought the music and audio edit was very effective but the accompanying imagery too cluttered and in moments didn't flow visually. The narrative flow of the trailer is stunted I think in trying to capture too much of the story. The trailer should have a narrative of its own. It doesn't need to retell the narrative of the feature, just capture a theme. As far as can be told from a trailer the acting looks to be of a high standard and your production logo looks sweet too.

I appreciate the comments! I agree. I will throw in that this is just a "teaser" and not really meant as a full blown trailer, that will come for sure. This is more just a quick taste of what we've been doing so that's why it may seem that way but I do agree as well. Thanks for following us all this time!

Love the poster. Just think the film name should be on there somewhere. This poster, makes the movie's title scary.

So.. rough cut is done. Already one pass of cuts.

Started at 2hrs 9 minutes, now down to 1hr 45... I don't know if I can make any more cuts that isn't going to hurt the story I'm trying to tell.

Is there any hard fast rule on movie length now? I know this isn't a harry potter or dark knight.. but I don't see being able to get it down to 1.5 hrs without cutting some crucial stuff I can't afford to lose.

1:45 seems like a good number. A lot of indies used to aim for 1:30 for TV sales, but I'm not sure how realistic a hope that is anymore. Assuming you'll never see distribution to commercial television its best to finish the cut that is best for the film.
