Hey guys check out the promo for this new device called the leash. It was shot over the weekend of August 12,13 with my Hvx200 and redrock micro adapter and set of nikons.

Check it out.

I would love to hear any insights, comments or criticism you guys might have.:)

I think I want to buy a leash now... I think you accomplished your mission well. :)

It looked great: You proved the M2 isn't just for narrative films, but can be used wonderfully on commercial productions.

Thought it looked great.

Only criticism is the length of the edit as it got repetitive pretty quickly. Shortening it would give it greater impact as an ad.

Looks good.

That product is new, though? I sold those years ago at a kiosk in the mall.

Great footage, however. M2's dialed in real nice.

I agree, this is a temporary 2 minute cut, they are doing a :30 spot that will be airing on BET and ABC. Everything was run and gun, we only used a tripod for one shot.

and yes, the M2 is great. The only shot that was shot without the M2 was the one where the two girls are walking on Hollywood Blvd at night with the flashing lights in the background.

We used mostly natural light, we had one 250w hand held, battery operated sun gun and a 100w battery operated lowel i light. and one c stand. lol.

glad you guys enjoyed it, my friend Mark www.marcshap.com did a great job working with what he was given.

I agree with storyteller32,

It's too long. I got bored and turned it off. It looks great, excellent quality, but you need to leave people wanting MORE, not LESS. I was captivated by the first couple of amazing shots, but then it just kept on going... and going, and going. Give your audience the respect that they know what your product is after just a few seconds and let them decide what they'll use it for. Don't tell them everything.

Let their imagination have a few whacks at it.

Edit it down and you've got a winner.

Great looking spot. With all respect to the inventors, I've been using a product like this in assassinations for years now - never thought of attaching my phone to it!

...that girl on the beach needs to dump her jerk boyfriend and go out with ME...... yup...spot looked good. Nice job!

The lenses we used are listed in my webpage and are available for rent. they are:

Nikon 50mm 1.4, nikon 28mm 2.8, nikon 30mm 2.0, nikon 35-70mm 2.8, nikon 85mm 1.8, nkon 80-200mm 2.8

creativeye,
It looked really great! Nice job. I wish everyone would stop ragging on you about the length --- especially when the point in posting stuff here is for us to see some nice footage. Yeah, it may not work for a commercial spot, but the more shots, the better as far as I'm concerned. Great work!

Thank you

Thank you

Again, thank you for all the compliments. Creativeye supplied the HVX and Red Rock M2 gear on this shoot for us and together we pulled off what many people think looks like a $150,000 commercial for a tiny fraction of that. At AdamBushFilms.com we strive to turn out great results whether the budget is $400K or $10K. We wanted to shoot this on 35mm but again the budget simply wouldn't allow that.

The Leash commercial was shot during 2 days at 7 locations with a cast of 22. The 2:08 version of the spot will air in retail locations and mall kiosks on big screens and the :60 and :30 versions will air on USA, Lifetime, MTV, MTV2, MTVU, BET and ABC among others. http://LeashTV.com

Once again you're looking at the work of Director Xandy Smith.

I can't understand, it looks like a 1chip camera image...not at all like an hvx...why..is it my quicktime player or what??

I would guess it cost about $10k..am I close?

And how much of that went to the music clearances.

The video is what our dp, Mark, went off of. That's our talented director's vision in action. Thanks to Adam for bringing it all together.

You're right. The quicktime that is posted now at http://LeashTV.com is not the commercial we shot with an HVX. What you are looking at is indeed a test mockup shot with a one chip camera and the Eminem music is only for the test. The real commercial has original music and looks great. The final cut of the real commercial will be viewable at http://LeashTV.com shortly after THE &%*#@! CLIENT PAYS US THE BALANCE DUE!!!!! I love clients. :)
