The Learning Curve....

In general if I where to post say a 1 minute sample of some video I shot would anybody be able to say in a meaningful way how it could be improved from a DOP POV? Or would the person need to be there at the time of shooting to see things like ambient light etc?

Obviously there are the general comments like "too dark" etc but I'm more interested in things like setting such as those in the scene files. I'm still pretty green when it comes to that sort of stuff.... also despite living in London I appear to be the only person here to own one meaning few people to ask or learn from.
Cheers

AS for scene file settings and different controls of the camera, because there are so many choices and combinations the only real way to decide if there is an improvement to be made, is to actually try it out in the moment. If you have a decent monitor hooked up, make some adjustments and see what works best for you.

Still there are some knowledgable people lurking around here, Im sure they could assist in a meaningful way if you posted something.

Thanks, I've been working on some of the footage I got in China so I should be able to post some stuff for review in the next week or so.

How many DVXuser screen names do you have?!? ;)

maybe he is schizophrenic?

as far as learning curve on scene file settings, etc. you should check out Barry's DVD. i learned more from that in a week than I had on my own in a month and i understand it very solid now and hadn't had any experience with the HVX or the DVX.

Thanks, I will be placing an order for the DVD.... just want to wait till after Christmas.... I don't particuarly trust the post this time of year!

Indy....

I only have 1 account but I travel a lot (China, India and Morocco in the last 3 months) and for my own information I like to see where I'm posting from! I actually live in London, UK.
