the last show i ever played

i gave up the life of a rockstar (sort of) to be a better dad and husband, but i got nostalgic and found this on youtube tonight...my last show with a band called Daredevil Jane, in 2006...i was their drummer, and it was a lot of fun. check it out...oh, and for the musicians out there, i know the bass was horribly out of tune. not my fault. the drums sound good!! haha:beer: though i have to say that because i knew i was done, i let it get the best of me, so in the video, i am not having any fun..it was the last song of the night, and it was a long and fun run, but i was ready to go home. and i never looked back. this is the last song i ever played, as i sold my drums shortly after to buy a camera.

You should consider doing at least a little bit of the same. My father is a kickass guitar player. He's only done small local shows for a long time and not with a lot of commitment in the last decade or so, but the fact that he's even that much of a rock star has always been a plus for me, more so now. So at least keep it up enough for your kid to get a sense of awesomeness if you can find a good balance.

It's been about as long since I've played anything, so I understand the feeling. This show looked like a good one to go out on.

• Nice job.

• Some interesting comments on that YouTube link.

• That song reminded me of The Cult.

Nice sound for a live show/youtube vid.

This story sounds all too familiar. Sold my Pearl kit last year. (It was getting in the way of all the lighting/grip gear that I'm acquiring in our basement)

I can't get rid of all the tattoos, though.

Nice job man.

Time goes by so fast. One of the last live shows I did was in the summer of 1991 at CBGBs, just before I moved out of NYC. I can't believe it's been that long. I thought I would keep playing, but I met my wife, had kids and fell in love with making movies.

I still jam now and again, and I really do miss playing live. But I wouldn't trade what I have now for a string of sold out shows at the Garden.

Very cool.

Stopped touring in '85... married in '89.... 2 kids....divorced in '99 (and paying for it ever since)... never should have stopped touring!

Welcome to the club

I know how that feels man, I´m about in the same situation as you.

In the moment I only play with BandInaBox and a session here and there.
But I really miss the stage.

This was my last show - thou not exactly as a "rock" star ;-)
