"The Last G's of Hasbro"- A Short Film seeking Critique

First off, great job! That was well done. Some of the scenes looked great! Good audio as well. I also thought the gun fight worked well with some of the composited hits etc. I have some constructive criticism for ya to get better as you are going somewhere!

First, I do not know if it was the compression or camera but the weird blurring on movement really took me out of the movie. Also, the shot at the end of the gun was a bit too close for the gun to hold its realism. Perhaps a real gun for that last shot? I know that is a tall order for a 16 year old to do legally, but perhaps there would have been a way? I like the concept and thought you executed it well. I would have liked to know more about the characters but I guess we already did from the original? I have not watched it. Good luck and keep making films. You have talent like crazy. -Matt

I have to agree with Matt -- very nice work. Honestly, with regards to production quality, sound, and pacing, you're ahead of a lot of guys who are supposed to be more experienced. You wisely chose when to move the camera and when to leave it still, and when it moved it wasn't overboard.

I saw the same weird blurring with some of the shots when the camera moved.
The only thing that I noticed that could be improved is the sound design -- when one of the guys slaps the clip in and slides the bolt back, it sounds like a toy gun. I'd find a recording of someone doing it with a real gun and lay it down.

Otherwise very impressive. The direction of the actors was good, as were the shots. You have a talent for filmmaking -- keep at it.

Thanks guys, the criticism's appreciated.

I've noticed the blurring too and it seemed very pronounced on the YouTube version. Perhaps the shutter speed was too low, better remember to set it higher for future fast-movement sequences.
