The Kominsky Method, Season 3 starting, highly rated on IMDB 8.2 ATM .
I watched the first season when it first came out, and I liked it a lot, the writing was surprisingly strong, and the acting excellent. So, after finishing the excellent Call My Agent! series I thought I’d revisit this old favorite to see what the other seasons hold.
I started with the second season, and lasted 2 episodes. I don’t know what happened, because the same people are involved, but somehow everything dropped quality-wise. The acting was by the numbers and actually weak from Michael Douglass daughter character. But the writing dipped seriously, and the situations were lame setups, like something done for children. The edge that was there in season one, was completely lacking here. It was very flat and lacking in any depth, like a “middle brow hollywood” production. Perhaps they’re out of ideas and there simply wasn’t enough material for more than one season. I was very disappointed, because I enjoyed the first season so much. YMMV.
