For his own amusement, a New York based filmmaker/screenwriter has adapted THE BIG LEBOWSKI (1998) for the Elizabethan stage: the results are effing hilarious!

Dost thou attend me? Seest thou what happens, Laurence? Seest thou what happens, Laurence? Seest thou what happens, Laurence, when thou firk’st a stranger ‘twixt the buttocks?!
[Enter CLOWN]
This be what befalleth, Laurence! This be what befalleth, Laurence!

I predict that the Coens + other rights holders will all come onboard, and make this a Broadway + West End hit within the next couple of years.

Funny: I was actually considering finding out about the rights and seeing if I could get a Shakespaere troupe to do a performace. Just a LOT of hoops to jump through to get permission... I'm sure someone will come along and pick it up soon due to the wonderful powers of the internet. Should be fun to see. I know I'd pay to see this on stage...

And an occasional DVXuser forumgoer, I should point out. :p

Ha ha!

Well then allow me to congratulate you personally, sir!

Honestly, you deserve every kilobyte of the viral blitz you’ve initiated, as well as the many opportunities that I am sure you’ll encounter as a result.

I look forward to owning it in print, and to seeing it performed whenever it (inevitably) reaches London.

Thanks again for the laughter!
