The HVX CD - attn: Barry Green

Shooter

Veteran
I have the CD that came with this excellent Book but wonder if I have found an error in the directory structure that Barry (and others) should be aware of.

The Scene files and the User Files are splitout to a 60hz directory and a 50hz directory.

In the 50hz directory (that I need) the user files have record modes that would be more like 60hz (REC Format 720P/24P)

example:

Ver 1.00-00
AG-HVX200P
TITLE:TITLE1
0000A000: 12 ; REC FORMAT**: 720P/24P
0000A001: 0 ; REC FORMAT**: 480i/60i
0000A002: 0 ; 480i REC MODE : DVCPRO50
0000A003: 0 ; ONE SHOT TIME : 1F
0000A004: 0 ; INTERVAL TIME : 2F
0000A005: 1 ; PREREC MODE : OFF
0000A006: 0 ; REC SPEED : SP
0000A007: 1 ; AUDIO REC : **(16**)
0000A008: 0 ; MIC ALC : ON
0000A009: 0 ; MIC GAIN1 : -50*
0000A00A: 0 ; MIC GAIN2 : -50*
etc...........

In the 60HZ directory there are no User Files - just Scene Files.

What are the P2 files for?

Oops. Those user files shouldn't be there. They won't hurt anything, your PAL unit won't load them. They were an oversight, as are the MTDT.p2 files. Pay no attention to them, only use the scene files. The .p2 files are metadata files that can be loaded in the P2 menu screen, but they're just sample stuff, nothing of value to worry about.

<ignore the files... nothing to see here... move along...> :)

Good to know you are human Barry and make mistakes like the rest of us. Must be tough having a god like status in the DV world...

Keep up the good work.
