First Off thanks to everyone's input into which tripod was better for my price range.
I ended up going with the Libec LS38. It was about $250 cheaper than the bogen I was looking at and let me say....WOW!!!!!!! It is a VERY sturdy and solidly built tripod. I love the fluid head. The head has plenty of room to balance the camera and when you tilt it as far up as it goes (or down) it sort of springs back to the general level stance of the head allowing for easier fluid tilts. One of the greatest things about this head that I havent seen on any other "budget" tripod, is that when you reach the end of your pan, there is no "backwards" movement when you finish and take your hand off of the handle. Allows for solid stops without loking jerky.
I paid $649 from B&H and got free shipping.
The tripod came with the mid-level spreader whichcan be easily taken off for extreme low shots. the sticks have three stages.
I did some test shots with the tripod and my hvx. I had to do them inside because it was raining. I will try to upload those in a little bit.
I post some pics later as well.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.
