The Hump documentary

In this case, the Hump is a 12,000 ft mountain pass that my Uncle's Colorado hockey team have to travel over to play hockey in distant towns since they have no hometown rink of their own. When my uncle totals his car on the way over to play he starts wondering if his love of the sport is worth his life?

It is kind of ridiculous that this doesn't have a single comment. Fantastic. The whole thing looks beautiful; I love the way you lit and shot the interviews, and the background. Very very nice.

I agree with custer.

What you did with this video is truly awesome. I would be proud if I made such a video. Hopefully I will be able to soon. I'm just getting started in this type of thing and will be ordering an HMC150 probably tomorrow. Jon, I would love to know what your workflow is for the HMC150/AVCHD. I'm hearing mixed reviews about the whole thing.

FCP or PPro? Computer spes? Transcoding? Etc... if you get the chance. Thanks in advance!

HI,

The treatment to the first 22 secs is beautiful!
Liked very much the setups of the interviews, nice.
All the "nature shots": beautiful!
3:54 shot: where we see the light setup of the interviews... awesome!
Man, at the 3:54 minute and this doc is reaaaaally good. Everything, top notch! Super professional!

I'm going to stop commenting on every single shot, and just watch the whole thing; seriously, this is GOOD!

Sorry, had to do it: 13:33 car shot... BEAUTIFUL!

Jon, have you sent this doc to festivals? This is such an amazing doc that I wouldn't be surprised if it does well in the festival circuit.

btw... your work looks great... really professional.. nice colors, solid looks and great storytelling! congratulations!

hey guys, sorry it's been a couple of months since I've been on here… thanks for the compliments.
yes, "The Hump" did make it into the 2011 'Mountain Film Festival' and won best environmental doc.
