Howdy,

This morning I had the camera connected to my HDTV by an HDMI cable. I was playing with the focus and the image on the TV. I wanted to test the internal mike so I flipped on the connection. Instantly an erie, howling sound started coming from the TV. It got real loud quite quickly and I scrambled to turn off the TV. Any idea what is going on here? I noticed this before when I was testing a wired Lav. Same thing.

Sounds like audio feedback. Like when a musical act has a mic too loud or too close to the speakers and it screeches loudly.

Yeah a feedback loop… The audio equivalent of shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you, shooting yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you.

You get the idea.
