Very good book. Novice to advanced. Some quirks that are nice to know even if you are the "expert" type. Should have came with the camera imo. Also Barry's scene files are interesting.
I agree with everyone above. You can find a pdf online that explains all the functions of the HMC150, but having Barry's book has been a tremendous help. From novice to expert, the book is well worth owning.
I agree with all above posts, it's a must have. If you spent that much $$$$ on the camera, what's a few bucks to learn to use your camera more efficiently. There are a lot of things in the manual that are only touched on and cryptic if your a novice just getting into prosumer cams and after reading the book, I learned a lot more about my awesome HMC150. Still a ton to learn but this expedites the process quite a bit.
Barry's book does an excellent job of explaining the technical details in a "real world", practical manner (like explaining the pros and cons of using the various settings - and also explaining what something "appears to do" rather than just a dry technical description of what it actually does).
I just got my copy, started working through it last night. I already like it so much that I was inspired to finally stop lurking and register so that I could sing its praises! (And I haven't even had time to play with the Scene File settings yet...)
Yep. Just get it. It is a good add on to the manual, though he doesn't overlap the manual much. I've read it cover to cover in the last month. Refer to it frequently. Just do it. (barry, is the check in the mail yet?) (G).
