The Hit - Teaser 1:26

The big idea behind this shot was for lighting. Very new to this and I had seen and read how important lighting is in making movies so....

This was shot in 2 hours in one location with only one actor. As I mentioned above my purpose is to get feedback on lighting, acting, framing etc. before I continue with the short. It will be around 20 minutes when done and will have a nice big surprise in the end. Also, the camera settings were set to one mentioned in Barry's DVD...thanks Barry :)

This is NOT a trailer just a teaser to give you an idea of what's to come
Also, the voice over was done so you will have an idea what the story is about I will get another voice in the final.

Enjoy and I welcome all your feedback.

There are some GREAT shots in there.

The editing is far too repetitive though and that Trailer Voice Over has got to go.

However, I really thought your lighting in some of the shots was excellent.

Thanks CMessineo,

The lighting is the main thing here so I'm glad it looked good to you.

The voice over will be gone in the final trailer..well that one anyways ;)

Again thanks for your comments.

The editing was too repetetive, but other than that lighting was good.

It had a really warm feeling to me, with an orange tint. Is that what you were looking for? It kinda seems like you didn't white balance, maybe it's just me.

Personally, when I think of a 'hit' or death, I think it has a cold feeling to it. But hey, it's not my movie!

Overall it was good.

It looked okay. Voice over was bad. Music was a little distracting also. I think there's better music out there that would suit this better. Very repetitive, the shots look like they were composed okay, the framing was fine, lighting was also good.

it's a good start.

Hey Robbie, sorry man I just wasn't feeling it. The lighting to me was okay. I also agree on the repetative editing. It got annyoing but your actor looked cool. Like paul stated, its a good start. Keep filmming away and practice.

Cut it down, cut out like everyone says the repetative editing, kill the voice over and get new music and you might have something there to tease people.

Umm... All I see is a crazy dude with a gun. Either he's got personal problems or just needs to get laid. I didn't feel the trailer. It just didn't move me. But it's an effort.:)

some of the framed shots were nice, liek when he had the city light behind him. The lighting seemed a bit warm, maybe bring down saturation?

I wouldn't even film the trailer shoot a 5 min version first if you're going to go out and shoot something the trailer was just about a man with a gun take your time framing shots watch alot of other movies by famous directors look at their shots and mimmick. Whatever you do take these comments and keep going don't give up I'll post my trailer for my feature in a week or two it'll be in the xl 2 section.
