The high contrast "ILLEGAL" look

I dont know if this post belongs in this section but I didnt know where else to put it. And since it involves a HVX2OO I guess it wouldnt be out of place here. I really loved the look Andrew Oh got in his short film ILLEGAL. Its a high contrast Munich type look. He stated that he crushed the blacks and blew highlights and tweeked the curves in FCP in post. I ve tried everything and havent gotten close to getting that look. I particularly liked the scene in the kitchen with the girl. The only curves you can tweak ini Fincal cut pro is the color curve. If someone has had sucsess achieving that look please offer your tips.

I would suggest you post a short clip or at least a still of what you shot. There are many talented people here that can help. But not knowing what you have to start with will make everyone guess at what you should do.
