the story has been done to death and its not great one either.

How does he know? He has only seen the trailer... look at The Village, or other movies where the movie and trailer are totally different...

trust me this a sinking ship of a film... and wait for the predictins to be right... i usually am good at picking films and how they do. make some money but critically a flop.

Hey, I'm not arguing that point dude! I didn't like the movie, if you cared to read my review at the beginning of the thread. I was simply saying, don't say things about the movie or story unless you've seen it. I don't care if you are "good at picking films" plus your opinion isn't everyone else's now is it? I just hate it when people speak against a film without seeing it first... say you don't want to see it, and it looks like crap, fine... but don't say it is crap, and the story doesn't work, unless you've seen it.

If it looks like ****, and if it smells like ****, then there's a good chance that...(must I finish this wise proverbial saying?)

Edit:
Granted, I haven't seen The Gaurdian...but then again, I never saw Gigli either.

I disagree, Spidey...
I think it looks like **** because Kutcher is in it. Given a different casting scenario, this would be right up my alley.

really? i just dont see the movie. i think anyone in anyof these parts wouldnt fit. but we'll see.

With you on Ashton Kutcher. The guy must have some pics somewhere of a Studio suit with a donkey a hooker and an etch a sketch. I would put Josh Hartnett on that list, for me. Just watching the Dalia trailer I almost kicked the seat. Damn, he ruined another one. I woulda' seen that.

Thankfully, there are very few actors I have on that irrational dislike list. Kostner is a guy who always elevates a movie, for me. Sort of like Harrison Ford or Sean Connery. Pity they included a Himbo like Kutcher in the flick. I woulda' seen it - crappy trailer or not. BTW, Cameron fired Kutcher for Orlando Bloom - says something doesn't it ?

And Brandon, I agree with you. Say the trailer looks like crap all you want, and it's derivative, or lame or whatever, but until you actually see the thing you can't make completely declarative statements about the movie as a whole, IMHO. Heck knows, I've had to sit through some turkeys to be able to make those kind of statements... But, then again, this is an informal cafe '

Peace homies. Booyah !

I think Kutcher is pretty good, I underestimated him, but once I watched "Butteryfly Effect" I gave him much props.

I wont see this in theatres, I'll rent it out on DVD.

I saw this movie, And I didn't realize it was a true story until the end. I lived in Kodiak for 13 years. My mother knew Costners character Randell, and I met him once. It makes you think different about a heroic movie when you know its a true story, and you know people that were in the movie.
