I just cut together a new trailer and uploaded the new dvd cover artwork.... thanks to nat damm!

Gonna be submitting to many festivals and hopefully working this thing into a feature for 2007....

This is a short film (16:50) I completed in May 2006. It was shot with the DVX100A and cut together on FCP. My close friends and I were the crew, not to mention the characters that are portrayed. It was a fun project and a big learning experience… and at its first screening some people in the audience actually thought it was a “real” documentary. I got a supreme kick outta that. Enjoy.

Great little flick. Intense. Sounds familiar of 13 (Tzameti). Although I have never seen that film.
I think the biggest thing though is to congratulate the actors. You have to be amazing to act so natural, they seemed like very real people. You could probably work this into a feature. I wish I knew what else to say. It was just good all around I thought. Lots of nice colors. On another note, it was sort of predictable. I have no idea why. I sort of felt I knew who would die.

Great concept, great film. By the way, wouldn't more money be involved in a 'sport' like this? Hate to say it, but I think people would pay to watch.

I love fake documentaries, it really is a tightrope.

evan s, yeah I've seen the 13(Tzameti) trailer...... I watched it a few months after I shot my film.... it looked pretty damn cool

thanks for the props on the thespianism.... I knew from the get go that I wanted this thing to be very believeable and "real" but f**king absurd as well (if that makes any sense).... thats one of the reasons I wrote in lines that had to do with them putting their lives on the line for very small amounts of money.... and going to buy groceries and checking the expiration date on milk, when the next day they might be dead..... I tried to put some irony/black comedy in there but I think the high intensity and un-nerving nature of the film sometimes masks the humor/irony/whatever you want to call it

thanks for the feedback fellers:beer:

Great film. Well acted, well shot, and really well edited. Usually I dont get into short films but during that roulette scene I was grabbing my keyboard. I don't know if it would work as well as a feature, but as a short it was awesome. Great job.

First i just wanted to say, that short was so believeable. Tell the actors they did amazing. Great direction as well. The whole film was very intense and kept my interest up throughout the duration. I did feel that the middle part leading up to the match started to get a little slow. I kept wondering when you'd cut to the actual game. Very interesting short though. props

thanx guys

I've heard from a few people that the middle part drags just a tad... but I wanted to try and develop their chracters a tad more.... I feel some stuff could go for sure, so thats a fair criticism

on the other hand, some people were entirely sucked in and hypnotized by the characters and they wanted to see further development.... but as a whole, I feel some of the interviews could be trimmed a tad.

thanx again for the feedback, it helps to get outside opinions
