From writer/director Zeiad Hussein comes The Ghost of Gallager, a story about 4 people who come together to survive from an ancient ghost.

We shot the movie with the DVX100A, 24Pa. I was the cinematographer so let me know how you like the couple little clips shown in the teaser.

It was a grueling 6 days.

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

Did you wanna put a link to the teaser?

Edit: you got to it before I finished writing this.

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

That looks great!!

Some of the acting seemed a little hokey, but it's hard to tell completely from just a few clips in a trailer. I really like the camera movement, choice of angles, and especially the overall lighting. I think the beginning of the trailer really does a good job of working up a scary feel, but the music that jumps in completely kills it for me. I'm not sure if the tune is self-produced or not (if it is, I give you kudos for at least doing your own thing), but it's not nearly intense or gripping enough. (It actually sounds a bit cheesy when it first comes in.) I'd definitely like to see the final cut of this, though... the story seems pretty cool and on the whole, it's really nice DVX footage. Good job!

Hi there, good work, not that I can do much better at this stage, but the Audio is spoiling it a little bit

On Shot that I thought was brilliantly framed, was the shot where they open the gate, about 28 sec into the trailer. AWESOME SHOT !

Some of those shots look sweet as hell!

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

For some reason I couldn't view it. the link is not working, when I went to ur site I didn't find it either. please update.

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

I'll echo the compliments on the camerawork -- the outdoor scenes look especially nice to me. What kind of crane/jib did you use for those establishing shots?

(Also, is it just me, or is the video heavily distorted vertically? It looks stretched almost 1.5 times as tall as it should be on my computer. :-/)

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

Hmm, well, I'm not sure what's up with not being able to view it. It requires Windows Media Player.

Also not sure what's up about the distortion. I didn't edit it I only shot the footage, lol. I think when he imported it into the timeline, it wasn't a widescreen timeline... not too sure. I should ask him (the editor).

As for the shots. We used a Steady Tracker for the steadier moving shots, although most of the footage of the movie I shot handheld because I hate that stupid steady tracker, regardless of the smoothness. I have a Bogen tripod with a 501 head and we also got a 12 foot dolly and a Cobra Crane I Plus. The gate shot was filmed with the crane and I put the camera on an angle so if I were to pan up it actually goes a little dutch.

I'll try to get some other formats for the teaser to be viewed on, such as quicktime or RM.

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

Ah, the trailer is back up online. Just copy and paste the link:
www.brainworkmedia.com/TGOG Teaser.wmv

Uses windows media so make sure you have that before opening it.

Music needs to be redone and all that. They're working on that currently. It is original music and I suppose that's all they can do right now. It was done pretty fast just so there is something to show right now.

I hear they have edited 12 minutes of the movie... w/o music or sound fx or anything like that. Rough cut and stuff. When the website where the clips are being displayed is released to us, I'll post it here for you guys, possibly... if they let me, lol.

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

you keep putting a space between TGOG and Teaser.wmv and since I don't know what to put between them or what the correct url is, I, like a few others can't even get to whatever page it's supposed to be on, having the windows media player plug in doesn't even factor in to it at that point, I just keep getting "page not found" messages, what's up?

Re: The Ghost of Gallager - TEASER

::UPDATE::
