Ha!
I was testing my dvx+andromeda+m2 setup last night with a decent nikon 105 lens, a very big barrel lens that I used wide open.
I was very pleased with the following bokeh.. I find that is is very close to the bokeh of the pros, ie the beautiful out of focus areas that proper cine lenses like ziess speeds (in combo with a 35mm camera) can produce...

There are some problems with the optics chain, but generally it has that nice gelled look that the out of focus areas of proper cine lens. Not perfect, but I think I'm on my way to a pretty good fake of cine lens quality. The andromedized DVX helped a lot too as far as rendering the highs in a nice manner. I've been looking for this lens quality for quite some time, and I'm thrilled to be approaching it now.

PS - the highlight circles are a little football-ish looking, and I think that's because they are christmas lights and have a long lozenge type shape. I'm trying to find lights that will create nice perfect circles.. ie the bokeh of pros!!!

If you ever have the oppertunity to try out a CANON FD 35mm F2.0 SSC lens you will be amazed by its PERFECT zeiss like Bokeh, its increadible.

looks spectacular! i never go why people would bother getting the andromedia mod. If your going to spend that much, why not just get an hvx?

big difference between the two. the andromeda is capable of an increadible, dynamic range, and is sharper than the HVX is in 720p. throw in an anamorphic adaptor, you got yourself some CRAZY sharp anamorphic 16:9 images. it could probably even cros convert tto 1080p pretty well. certianly sharper than the HVX is capable of producing.
