"The Five Obstructions" 2003

Yes..... frankly, I found it a bit wordy and too much less-than-fascinating discussion. I ended up fast-forwarding to the actual films. And, frankly, the first obstruction was the best...

Hate to say it, but it's about 10-15 minutes of good stuff scattered around the length of the film. Interesting idea, but not all I hoped it would be. Certainly worthwhile for NetFlix if you have extra time in your life... and I guess great stuff for anyone who's REALLY into one of the two directors involved.

Oh... crap. I liked the idea of sitting on my ass and learning something.

Got anything to suggest that could achieve that? :)

Actually just watched this last night and found it pretty engaging. And I'm seeing Jorgen Leth speak tonight to talk about it. :)

Hey, like I said, worth a NetFlix... hope you like it, too!

Not that I'm saying it's the same kind of thing, but did you ever see CQ?

if you want to sit on your ass and learn something, read The Dirt by Motley Crue...think of it cinematically while you read, and wonder why the movie still hasn't been made....Google it for info on original cast picks from 2004 (when it was in pre-production), and think of who you would want to star in it now.

but read the book first, please. because what i found out is that most people, when asked about Motley Crue, think Nikki Sixx is the singer. because it's the only name they remember. by "they", i mean, people from New Jersey. i don't know why this is.
