Nah, I stole them from Peter (Sony marketing manager) over from the Sony forums.

Just got home from a shoot, and saw these diagrams. Had to share them.

Bit disconcerting that no one NLE can handle all of the formats the camera shoots. Hopefully that'll change before release.

For a long while not much supported RED raw, this is already more software support than RED had years down the line, Sony is definitely not wasting any time.

Three different popular NLEs - Avid, Adobe and Sony - all support 3 of 4.

I'd say:

1) That's pretty darned good for launch.

2) It bodes well for one or more of the above supporting 4/4 very shortly.

I wouldn't call this disconcerting.
 
I wonder whether Apple will support HD XAVC for Final Cut Pro 7 which many people will continue to use for some time. Do any these cameras still shoot XDCAM EX 35mb?

Apple is done making updates for 7. But 50mb XDCAM that the 5/55 do works in 7. There's no 35mb in the 5 or 55.

There will be more new codecs available over time from many manufacturers that Final Cut 7 will not support.
Unless you are happy with the FCP7 codec support currently available, this will be the beginning of the end for Final Cut 7 unless a third party software solution writes plug ins to support new codecs.
I agree with Nate in that Apple are done with Final Cut 7. The Pro apps team is probably no longer around so it would be a miracle for Apple to support it.
