The EVF answer? TVLogic EVF035W-3G

Looks promising. High hopes. Wish we had it last spring!

This and the Letus/Hurbut EVF bracket might be nice stuff.

I wonder if this will be enough to do away with the 5.6" TVLogic. I love it, but can't see anything in daylight even with a hood and have trouble matching color to the F3.

I hope this one will be a winner!
Looks good on the photos, style wise. I would go for it if all as promised just for SDI in/out...

Well if it is the same display as the retina display on the iPhone, that would be awesome to me. Really nice looking product! By the way, LG makes the retina displays that Apple uses if you did not know. (At least in the iPhone4)

This is really nice. If they can make a universal mounting bracket that keeps the EVF level to the camera and adjust for different lenses weight and length they can own the EVF market. The way its shown so high up on the F3 isn’t the way you would use it in a shoulder setup.
Like most cameras we use we end up with frankenrigs to get the pieces to work together. Really frustrating. Would be a breath of fresh air if mounting was considered by the manufactures along the way.

HDSDI and HDMI alone makes this a winner. Cant wait to see it when it’s released.

I talked with TV Logic this morning about this EVF and their OLED monitor. The post at Able is not as clear as it should be. This EVF is made by a company in the the Netherlands called Alphatron. It is not technically a TV Logic product. And quite possibly is still a prototype. After my conversation with TV Logic I get the feeling that it might not be released until after NAB. Nevertheless it is still intriguing. I keep hoping that Sony will just introduce there own similar to the HDVF-C35W that is on my 900 wasting away. I know there is an adapter at Able to use it on the F3 but without zebras etc it would be a monitor not a viewfinder.

I would love a nice third-party EVF, and my main problem with the ones on the market so far has been the "HDMI-only" deal. This looks perfect.

I hope that someone besides Sony makes one that capatures the entire market with its brilliance. (TV Logic guys, can you just make a loupe for your 5.6" monitor since it has peaking, false color, etc already?)

If Sony makes it the price will be four times as much. The Sony loupe compared to the Hoodman loupe for instance. (Then compare that to the DSLR Chinese knock offs that sell for $30.) I know its not the same but if the Chinese could innovate instead of make cheap copies most of these camera parts suppliers would be out of business.

OK, about the Chinese.... And their "copying stuff"... Everybody is trashing them for copying.... That is the proven method of innovation... just look at Japanese technology that we all admire today: they "stole" (and improved, of course) most of design and ideas from Europeans and US after II WW ( look at the first 35mm photo cameras of Canon and Nikon... Leica anyone?... Or any Japanese cars of that era... British design maybe?). Examples are numerous. Chinese are coming. I give them 5-7 years and we will be getting real high quality products from them just as from Japanese, KoreanS, ...
