The Echo Game - feature filmmaking at new car prices

Don't worry. I'm confident that we'll find a distributor and it will be available for all to watch shortly, Mark. In fact, I am inviting said distributors to the screening. If you're reading this and want to be in on the first look, get in touch!

Late notice, but a few seats just opened up... anyone in LA who wants to check out the movie tomorrow night, get in touch and I'll try to get you in!

A few updates here that I've forgotten to post...

First off, we signed with Circus Road Films to rep our movie for sales... they're sending it out now, and it could theoretically start selling at any time, but most likely it will be 3-6 months from now that real motion starts to happen. We're very excited about this.

Second, we got a nice surprise this week from L'ECRAN FANTASTIQUE, which is a popular French genre film magazine. They had contacted us about an interview a while back, and we expected to get a small mention about the film - but they actually gave us a three page feature! This is in an issue where most of the other films had craft services budgets larger than our entire cost! Very cool. Here's a couple snapshots of the magazine from overseas, where it's on newsstands now. Of course, I can't read French...

Brian cut together a nice little behind-the-scenes featurette from existing footage. It's pretty basic but you'll see a lot of what we were working with on set.

If there's one thing about producing a feature film that I wish I had known before I did it, it's that your movie can and probably will take YEARS to actually see the light of day. Years after production, maybe even years after you've locked in an edit. That's if you're lucky enough to get a release at all.

Well, right on the eve of going into production on my second feature, I have good news from my first: The Echo Game now has an official release date! It will be out on DVD on September 27th, and available the week after on VOD direct to your TV nationwide! We’re still finalizing the cover art and more, so stay tuned for more information!

Hey Doug-

About to get into the super low budget feature game myself. Now that the film is out, what did you guy spend vs. what you sold it for?

Thanks!
Joe

Joe,

Believe it or not, I still can't really say. Even with the movie out on shelves, we're still not done with this process.

Ryan-Guy, did you watch the movie? If so, may I ask which format/delivery you went for?
