DISCLAIMER: I do not work for Panasonic nor is Barry Green my brother-in-law. I get no kickbacks for this post.
I read Barry Green's DVX book (credit also to Jan Crittenden and Harry Foulds) and I strongly implore any DVX owner to buy this book and accompanying DVD if you want to master the camera's use.
***It is well worth the $69.00 street price and I would pay $100.00 for its purchase if I had to. ***
Its writing is clear, concise and easy to understand for beginners and advanced users. It explains the use and reasons for all of the camera's features, something my warped brain needs in a great "how to" book. It has demystified the reasons and use for all of the DVX's settings and the accompanying DVD actually shows you what your picture will look like utilizing most of the camera's settings.
As an easy to master "how to" book, I hold The DVX Book in the same esteem as Joseph Mascelli's "The Five Cs of Cinematography."
Thank you, Barry, Jan and Harry. I am now going to type up a DVX settings cheat sheet, laminate it and keep it with my camera.
