The Drone - Experimental film

[super_plus]

Here's an experimental short I produced this past summer. I recommend listening with a nice pair of headphones to get the best experience.

Shot entirely on an hvx-200.

Good stuff, dude. The imagery and sound design create a creepy, surreal piece.

Did you write and record the spoken word stuff or did you sample it?

I wrote and recorded the narration. I used the tape recorder you see in the video then brought that into Pro-Tools and lowered the voice a little bit.

The soundtrack consists of several layers of guitar/bass feedback created with an E-bow. The whiny droning noise that gets higher during the radio tower shot is actually the sound my car radio would make for some reason when I put on the AM radio. Whenever I touched the gas the noise would get higher as I pressed down on the accelerator. I could never figure out why it did that but I'll take it.
