the display is dark

hi if you can help me
i have the avid xpress pro hd , when i move the time line with the mouse or the arows on the keyboard the composer display looks fine, but when i press play , or j or l the screen looks very dark i hardly see anything i hear only the voice :crybaby:

This sounds like a settings issue with the video overlay of your graphics card (nVidia?). It is probably just set too dark. You can adjust it though. Check your graphics card properties.

Which version of Avid do you have? I would imagine one that is fairly outdated. Avid Xpress Pro HD v5.5 and higher handles the video playback differently and eliminates the need to adjust those settings. Sounds like a cheap upgrade would easily solve your problem.
