The day before and no posts...

Barry, what is this?

Watch the flash overview:

There are multiple sections so be sure to not close the window because it seems like it is just restarting the playback.

Well, what that is is interesting. I downloaded the PDF and searched through and saw no reference to MXF or P2, and the only references to DVCPRO-HD on the "supported" list said "with 3rd party hardware." So... I guess we wait and see?

Yep, the Flash presentation mentions HD support via SDI on the AJA Xena HS card.
Bummer. No P2/MXF support means HVX users will need to ingest media some other way, and most likely convert the video to a usable format.

Besides that, pretty nice looking package overall tho. I'd say that Premier Pro is the weakest of the entire bundle, and they're finally leveraging the power of their other apps to make Premier more attractive. No rendering between After Effects and Premier is really nice, and so is interchangeable project files between the two programs. It's the level of interoperability that I find most attractive. GPU acceleration is also very nice, tho I guess we have to wait to see if it's based on OpenGL or if it'll only work with just ATI or just NVidia cards.

Definitely going for AE 7 Pro, so I might just pickup the bundle to see if they've improved on the other apps (still use Audition occasionally, but Encore 1.0 was abismal and bug-ridden).

Guess it's up to Vegas to save the Windows-using HVX populace :)

This is most dissapointing for me....Good thing I didn't go right out and buy a new computer. I will have to look to AVID or FCP now :-( I wonder how many people will be jumping Adobe Premiere's Ship now. I mean I loved the integration between all their programs. Well hopefully at a later date and time they will see their mistake.

It's only "Limiting" to those of you buying the HVX. For the rest of us the improvements are just icing on the cake. By the time I decide to go HD, 3-4 years, I'm sure Premiere Pro 4.0 will support it.....

Here's the top 3 reasons why I'm going for the upgrade.

1st.
GPU-accelerated rendering

Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 automatically adjusts to take full advantage of the power of your graphics card, accelerating the preview and rendering of motion, opacity, color, and image distortion effects.

2nd.

Accelerated client review and approval

Expedite reviews with Adobe Clip Notes. Embed video into a PDF file, e-mail the file to your client to review with timecode-specific comments, and then view comments mapped to the timeline.

3rd.

Multicam editing

Edit multiple-camera shoots quickly and easily. View multiple video tracks from a multicam shoot, and edit by switching between tracks in real time. Easily sync clips based on source timecode.
