The Dark Knight

Incredible movie, top notch from everyone. It had more twists and turns for you guts and brain then a cinnamon roll. The Joker was terrifying and funny other times which I'm glad because they didn't have any of the jokes in the previews. SPOILER The part of heath walking out of the hospital in the dress was by far the funniest moment for everyone at the theater. We were all laughing so hard. Two face was in there way more than people expected so kudos to the marketing team for keeping the last hour of the movie OUT OF THE MARKETING PLOY! Totally surprised everyone at the theater. Everyone thought the movie would be ending a certain way or w/e because of the previews and tv spots they saw. END SPOILER

The movie is incredible, simple fact. Go see it now.

You shouldn't be in here to read anything after the movie comes out until you see it for your own safety anyways, but I'll add it on there.

Saw it at the midnight screening. Heath Ledger was simply amazing. Overall the film exceeded its hype. Much better than Batman Begins.

Agreed with everyone
A) it felt like a direct continuation of the first film, like *GASP* they planned out 3 films.
B) I want to see Part 3 to see who batty deals with everything that happened.
C) Damn you Ledger!

*brilliant*

I almost don't want them to even try and make another with the joker since Heath cannot portray the character.

i hear ya but they will and deep down I want to see more with Nolan at the helms.

My friend texted me and asked what I thought and I simply said *brilliant*

question... friends (including me) from LA area watched the midnight screening @ 3 different cinemas. All claimed the "air conditioner" was NOT on, everybody was sweating guts in there... is this a warner bros. tactic for better viewing of the film? or does it so happen that the 3 cinemas wanted to save money by not turning on the air conditioning...

Maybe the a/c units are on a timer and went off because there usually aren't any screenings after midnite.

Spiderman 2 can't compete with this IMO. There is too much brilliant plot twisting and teasing thats done incredibly well for Spiderman 2 to rise above. Honestly this movie was EXTREMELY complicated in its story flow. So much opposites and flip flops to what was expected.

Dark Knight wins....

Went with the wife, who sort of liked Burton's Batman and did not really like Batman Begins, and she was blown away. We both expected it to be a let down considering the hype but, by god, they actually pulled it off. All the actors were great and Heath was everything they said, but ultimately what made it was they managed to actually get an amazing script.

Almost no plot holes, characters with believable motivations, and multiple themes playing off each other beautifully. The resurrection of one character started to hint at the typical Hollywood BS but then they go and surprise you with another's death.

I think they probably could have trimmed 10 or 15 minutes off it. Even though the 2 1/2 hours breezed by, the 3rd act seemed a bit rushed because the 1st act was so long. Maybe could have skip the trip overseas; put it on the DVD release. That would be the only criticism and it was barely an issue.

Even though I heard Nolan has no plans for another sequel, they do figuratively and in one character's situation, literally, leave you hanging. It will be interesting to see where the franchise goes from here. It would be near impossible to top this but with the amount of money they are gonna throw at them it will be fascinating to see if these people can walk away.

I certainly don't envy the actor that tries to re-invent the Joker in the next incarnation of the franchise. Probably will be many years from now, even a generation away, but Hollywood can't ever turn it's back on this kind of money.

One question for everybody (spoiler alert) did you guys also think the triggers were wired to blow up the boats that the people were actually on? Both the wife and I were thinking that but they never reveal the answer.

BTW, the magic pencil trick....F'ing brilliant. I got a few producers I want to try that on ;)

Cheers
