The Dark Knight

Yeah, I loved Batman Begins. I always wanted to know how he became such a great fighter, and how he got his hands on such cool gadgets. He orders in bulk, lol.

I loved that movie.

BTW, THE TUMBLER is the best Bat-mobile vehicle ever.

Not sure what kind of affect this will have on the movie, but Heath Ledger was found dead earlier today. While this is speculation on my part, it sounds like suicide.

I'm pretty sure it was in the can by now. Might have had some looping to do. Hopefully we get one last great performance out of him.

He told The New York Times in a November interview that he "stressed out a little too much'' during the Dylan film, and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy".

"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told the Times.

"I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going."

He said he took two Ambien pills, which only worked for an hour, the paper said.

His death (and the more recent ones) open up a very interesting discussion about how far should an actor go to portrait a character.

Method acting and modern acting schools in general helped create much more realistic images of characters, but isn't this taking a toll on actors sanity?

One of my favorite stories is from The Marathon Man, where Dustin Hoffman ran a few laps in order to be out of breath for a scene. Laurence Olivier came up to him and said, "Why don't you try ACTING?"

well i saw a interview with him on youtube and he said that they finished filming.
so the movie will indeed be ready....but its still gonna be wierd watching him act as the joker...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uKa-aDga1fE

also.....i read somewhere that in order to get prepped up for the role as the joker he stayed in a hotel room for 1 month without any human contact at all.....i dunno if this is true or not, but it does make the whole story more interesting......

and as for the topic of actors doing wierd **** do get into character....

the main character in "there will be blood" goes into his character 6 months before filming. in teh film Gangs of New York, he was a butcher, and so he acted like a butcher for 6 months before the film started......his wife commited suicide.

however....hes known for being an amazing actor.
i dont know why i know all these random facts lol

LOL. A friend of mine owns a theater in Upland - bought it from Sam Kinison's sister in law. To fill time, they did a two weekend run of a play called "Nathan" about a neglected son with Cerebral Palsy. My friend is playing the title role, and he's amazing in it.

Well, the woman that plays his mom got mad at him and starting yelling at him one night because he talked to her before the play started. Apparently she needs a couple HOURS to get into character and since her character doesnt talk to Nathan, the actress wont talk to my friend. She ignored and avoided him all during rehearsals.

So she got mad and started yelling and he basically returned "Dont be an idiot! ACT! What do you think I'm doing out there? I'm ACTING like a RETARD! Get over yourself!"

Good times.

Daniel Day-Lewis's wife is still very much alive. You must be thinking of someone else.

............hmm...wtf sorry abou that...

well i did find this on his wiki page

""" and while filming, he was never out of character between takes (including keeping his character's New York accent). Day-Lewis' dedication to the role even threatened his life[citation needed] at one point during filming when he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He refused to wear a warmer coat or to take treatment because it was not in keeping with the period. However, he was eventually persuaded to seek medical treatment. """""""""""

but this is going wayyyyy offf topic

Not to mention, if DK is a success because of Ledger's character, they are going to have a hard time bringing Joker back... unless they go with someone else.

Batman has a pretty deep well of iconic bad guys...The Riddler...The Penguin...Two-Face...Catwoman. Who knows, they might have killed him off anyway.

Heath's death will now create a mythic aura around DK for sure.
What a shame. so young and talented.

I've read on imdb that Adrian Brody was considered for the Joker. That would also have been incredible...he is an amazing actor and actually resembles the Joker physically.

I heard that all his filming and looping was completed. Looks to be Ledger's final performance in full, I'd rather not think about casting a second Joker as we're all still getting used to this new one. Even though he'll be a 'one of a kind' performance we should all enjoy it.

They can easily bring Brody in as Joker. The genius of Heath's joke is that he was not deformed like J. Nickelson in the 1st BATMAN. I love the fact that he looks like a grown man who like a kid got into his moms make up drawer. So all they have to do is allow for the joker character in the future to go to the next step by taking his physical facial appearance to the extreme. It can work because the joker is totally insane. He is capable of anything.

I believe the 1st BATMAN with Jack and Michael made a big mistake by killing off Joker in the 1st movie. I'm sure there were 1 million behind the scene reasons why they did it, but the joker is BATMAN greatest villain hands down. They started with the most insane character and basically went down hill from there. Many of the other character are diet insane, while joker is 100% caffeine filled to the brim. Joker must continue in BATMAN.
