I wanted to shoot the movie this weekend, but it looks like the main girl is away. At least I shot some tests before she left. Probably nothing that will actually be in the final picture, but at least I have some footage to play around with and color correct. Here are the grabs.

I know what your saying, maybe because of the warmness. I like the way it looks but maybe it's not foreboding enough. Here is the first way I color corrected it. It's basically just bleach bypass with black diffusion all the way up. Do you think it is more effective like this?

This movie is not yet titled. I was going to save that for last.

OH yeah, much better. This has a more stale look to it, could be the greenish tint. Anyways i like it much better.

The look is key, If it's too warm people get comfortable... and possibly sleep. (good thing these shorts are only 6 mins max). You want your audience uncomfortable, if you are going to scare them. Of course neither you or I know if a hideous monster will appear behind her and rip her head off in front of her little brother as he hides trembling in a corner... We just don't know that. In which case it would be acceptable up till that point, then raping us of our comfort.
