I think it's more Youtube than his compression settings. I recently ran across a "hack"
that enables you to watch most youtube videos in higher quality. You add

&fmt=18

to the end of the url. It works great, increases sound quality as well as video. I think
we are seeing a beta test of what is to come- much better looking Youtube videos.

On some videos , like his, you can simply click on "high quality" instead of the hack.

That quality does look way better, wow. YouTube's quality is so horrid in general, completely unacceptable, it makes me angry enough that it ruins my work through compressing it so badly, but I really feel sorry for the big guys who spent $200,000 on a music video and shoot in 35mm only to have it mostly viewed on YOUTUBE, where it could have been shot with my grandma's handycam and it'd make no difference.

Hahaha AMEN. Pathetic dude.
Few appreciate art in this country.
People would rather watch it right away in shitty quality, then go to the website and spend 10 minutes waiting for amazing quality. And what is even more pathetic is people judge the video based off the shitty quality version.

Bro, $50. You did well for real. Would like to see what you do with a bigger budget.

I think youTube have been converting to h.264 for a while as the Flash Player now supports h.264 natively. You don't have to mess about with converting to .flv (Flash video) anymore.

It was about time to be honest.
