F3: The Camera to end all Cameras

Love it. Saw it back when the F3 was new.

Considering the F3 can be had used for as little as $3k, I'd say this is even more true today.

I remember that, great spot. But the first 22 secs of their piece on the Alexa is how I've felt for years.

True that. I have only love for the F3. Maybe I'll just put mine on the bookshelf and marvel at it each time I pass.

Im happy/lucky I get to still use mine a lot for 2-camera shoots(and charge for it). I'd never be able to replace it with something as good looking for what I would get selling it.

Now I'm getting all weepy that I sold my F3. And sold my Red 18-50 lens as well.

I remember that Alexa piece. Can't stop laughing.

I just can't help but feel compelled to post this poster I made last year;

We'll miss you Sony F3, but happy to move on. :happy:

I'm sorely tempted to pick one up again as a b-cam to the F5. With the ET body armour, it's only real downside is off-speed recording abilities - that's the only real reason I bothered upgrading.

+1
you can't have it back :-)

In reality it's difficult to tell 60p internally is 720 only compared to 1080.

That and, well taken care of solid state cameras like the F3 will last long beyond their popular life, and expect to see cheaper, smaller, faster external recorders over the next few years - at some point it will be dirt cheap to record the external 1080p60 to something tiny with a high bitrate.
