its been a while since my last DVX footage post (as im currently working on a slightly longer piece, some would call it a "feature") but I thought id share a quick little edit I made

I recently broke my ankle so I couldn't skate but to amuse my self I decided to bring my camera and shoot
shot in 24pA, no color correction, song is Kissing The Lipless - The Shins

let me know if you guys want in depth settings

oh and keep in mind this was just a fun sesh, nothing too crazy

The Cage

i want settings. it seemed very crisp focus wise, would that have to do with the size of the video or ur settings. also a couple of the shots seemed to be dolly shots were those on a board or did u bring a dolly? and do you use teh OIS when you use the board (if thats what you used) because i built a dolly like set up that doesnt have a track jsut tires and the footage seems a bit shaky? o yea and very nice job on the video haha.

yeah the tricks are basic, it was intended to be just a fun day
we skate there a lot because at night we barely ever get kicked out besides the occasional old folk that screams at us cause he hates "the youth today"

I think its the way i compress to web that retains such quality... because my settings were quite basic (cinema gamma, etc.)

compression wise i import with the standard NTSC dv codec as my powerbook is as slow as molasses
then when i export i set the codec to UNCOMPRESSED 8bit which creates a huge file which i then bring into compressor and well... do work

Its funny because most of the shots were with OIS off, I forgot to turn it back on as my last shoot was with a tripod and then when i used my dolly i realized it was off
the dolly was just my dreggs longboard which i put sector 9 wheels on and it does a fair job, it also seemed to help that the ground was fairly smooth and OIS was enabled with the dolly shots

thanks for the responses guys

Sorry, I didn't mean to come out hard like that, saying the skating was weak.

Good times are always good.

I had a feeling it was a band like the shins, I just couldn't figure it out.
