Hello,

We just released our next short film "The Burden". It's our second short film we shot in July of 2008. We will continue to release more completed films in the coming months.

Here is the direct vimeo link for "The Burden".

If you missed it, here is the first short film "Alone".

Other short films coming soon to vimeo are: Schism, The 8th Inning, Catacomb, & our latest Armageddon Kitty.

Comments and critiques are all welcome! Thanks!

Really nice film, I thought I knew where it was going in the beginning but then you made my a little unsure in the middle so when it ended I actually did end up a bit surprised, nice going. One thing that really stuck out to me was your audio, it was practically flawless! What do you use, or are you tweaking it in post because for an aspiring filmmaker like me it was really cool to hear excellent audio. Great film again, I really enjoyed it... In a somber way.

Mom???!!!

I thought it was a lesbian break-up story up until she said that word...

...(and it was working that way!)

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the comment on the audio. Audio is such an important element and should get high priority in production. I used Soundtrack Pro to help process my audio. When I shot 'The Burden' with the EX1, it was still on the release firmware. Some may be aware of it's "clipping" qualities. I was unable to record any levels higher than -12db. So Soundtrack Pro really brought out the best from the audio recordings. (A lot of normalization, noise reduction, and equalization was used.)

Come to think of it, I can see why you interpreted the relationship that way. There was a scene that briefly mentioned the mother having the daughter at a very early age. But that scene was cut due to being unnecessary. Funny but interesting observation. Thank you!
