THE BRIDE WORE BLOOD -- trailer online

Hi Scott, well done on getting it all together. Looks interesting. And you have a screening which is awesome work. Cant watch the trailer right this second as I am dling other things. But one thing kind of struck me from the About the film page:

The Bride Wore Blood draws inspiration from the Italian and American Westerns of the 20th century.

The story opens as The Hired Gun (Travis Shepherd), a bounty killer.....

Suddenly, The Hired Gun finds himself trapped in a place where death is a currency and justice is a thing of the past..........

As a hired killer I would think he would be used to this scenario so this statement feels like it lacks weight.

Scott, nice to see your new stuff. Looks great, as per usual...

Your camera movement is top notch. Still a huge fan of University Heights, so I'll have to check this out!

No offense. Sort of seems like a rip off of everything Taratnino makes. Which in my opinion is not all that original for him. However, I am judging by a trailer. Tarantino is good at what he does for a reason, however I don't think this is the same type of feeling I'm getting from this. While it seems really great it seems really off-balance in a very key way, which I think is the style/music of the film/trailer.

Good title! (That's half the battle)
This trailer would be perfect it had better sound. The vocal recording sounds like it was done with an omni mic in a small bedroom. It sounds echo-ey and distant. It ruins this otherwise cool trailer. You need a good shotgun mic right by their mouths, and then some serious sweetening after to make there voices deeper and nastier. Also you needs some shots of guns going off. Don't introduce a gun and not have it go off, even in a trailer (see Chekov)
Fix those two things and it would be perfect, right now it's just .. meh.

I'm afraid to ask what this movie is all about.

Not sure if your statement is serious or comical :)

Regardless, here is the logline:

A bounty killer is hired to protect a bride-to-be in this contemporary Western. When secrets reveal the past, blood is shed and a deadly mystery unfolds.

congrats! How long is the movie? As others said, the title is great. That's what caught my eye in the posts...great title. Very Tarentino-esque title.

It's probably a cool feeling to know your site is out of bandwith from the many trailer viewings.

=)

The film is about 60 minutes long, so it's sitting at a strange length between a short and a feature.

Here's the reason why -- in May 2006, the co-director and I were waiting for a development deal contract to come back, so we decided to produce a short film in the meantime. The 15-page script grew to 30 pages, and then the 30 pages turned into a 60 minute film.
