THE BRIDE - By ????????

I can't find a thread for this film and no one seems to know who the hell made it. But, I vowed to review every film, so here's this one.

The exterior photography on this one looked great! The colors were rich and really looked quite nice. Kudos to whomever shot this one.

Unfortunately, this film suffers from a bad script. It was more like, Deliverance Light meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and not in a good way.

The acting by the "hill people" was creepy enough to sell their lot in life, but the "good guys" didn't pull their weight.

And finally, this one begged for an ending other than what it was given. But this just falls under the "bad script/story" issue.

So in summary...

Beautiful exterior photography. But the real horror of this film was the script.

I made the Bride with some friends. I know it lacks alot of things, we did this in three days with a cast and crew of 26 in a ghost town 2 hours from where we live, we should have taken more time on it, The first cut was over 20 minutes so then we cut it to 6, yeah we cut that mother up. Not trying to make excuses for it. I have seen a lot of good films that blow this away but I really wanted to take part of this contest.

Ha ha. Deliverance Light. And Deliverance is pretty light itself. Aside from the "squeal like a pig" - that part really gets to me.

Neat locations. I have to agree with the comments above, though. It really looks like you threw this together with your friends (and it sound like you in fact did do just that). You should get uglier friends, though - they make better hill people.

This movie was pretty ambitious also. A big cast, and an interesting location. I was impressed. Focus seemed to be an issue with the shallow DOF you were using. I liked the shot following the hillbilly downstairs. The acting was passable. The characters didn't seem that scared after discovering the body. The new bride seemed pretty terrified though.

I lived the look for a lot of the outdoor stuff.

The way the girl's legs stopped kicking after being lifted and choked was creepy.

The old bride's character seemed too aligned with the hillbillies.

The ending was a bit abrupt.

I liked the score. Sounded better than average.

Good job. Where can I see more?
