the best sound recorder

Hello partners.. i need help please... what is the best sound recorder i can buy with $300. Can i get some recommendation please i have a shooting by next week, thank you for your time.

That should be able to get you an H4n. Anything better is going to cost more, as you probably figured.

That's a pretty broad question, even in the $300 range. What kind of auxiliary gear do you have? Mixer? What mics will you be using? Do you have a need for phantom power?
