The best PC Laptop for HVX

Yes... very absurd, but I suppose that's the price for being on the bleeding edge of technology. I can't really afford to buy all the solutions in order to test them, but I'd gladly pay a few bucks to get your mini-review!!

I've just entered into video editing in the last year and have been working with Liquid (most recently AL 7 for DVCPRO 50 support). Liquid would be perfect for me since I'm not doing anything Hi-Def, but AL 7 has issues, I'll stop there. Going to the Canopus Demo I noticed two things-

1. Edius just works. Liquid is great, but it seems that I spend half my time opening and closing the program, or trying to figure out why a feature doesn't work the way it's supposed to. (yes I have SP2, all the latest drivers and a dedicated hard drive with just a clean install of Win XP pro and Liquid, nothing else)

2. Jazzx is right. There are a lot of things I can do in Liquid that I can't do in Edius, which is dissapointing.

That being said, I'm leaning towards the "just works" camp. I'd rather have limited ability and a full head of hair than deal with hours and hours down the drain for troubleshooting.

So, sooner or later I'll be able to give a mini-review on all the editing options for the HVX because I'll have Vegas/Raylight, FCP, Avid and Edius Broadcast.

Man, that sounds absurd now that I say it out loud!

Bless you, Barry! You test all the stuff and we get the easy choice.

You know, the Edius Broadcast had a Premiere Pro 1.5 plugin for free. I have written them asking if they are going to do a version for PPRo 2.

I'll let you know what they say.
