I've heard a lot of things about Canon's line and the SD9, but in your guys opinion what is the very best consumer level B-Cam for the HMC-150 in terms of matching the picture and shooting format (I plan to do a lot of shooting in HG mode 1080/60i). a big THANKS in advance!

Not sure why you like 60i, but I like the Canon hf/hfs line of camcorders for under a grand, or slightly higher.
MC150 is more saturated in low light, but other than that, they match well for me.

The Canon has slightly more resolution, and the HMC150 is better in all other ways, but they are close enough to match easily. I keep a wide angle lens on the Canon which makes it slightly softer to match even better.

Hey GH. which mode do you shoot? Which Canon do you use?

Also, just curious...why the Green Hornet? I loved that show. Wanted to by an Imperial and make my own just like the Green Hornet.

I use a Canon HF100 and a Canon HFS100.
I shoot it in cine mode, or sometimes not. It seems like cinemode reduces the color, so I turn that off when i want more color.

I guess Canon thinks film looks less saturated.

I guess I picked Green Hornet because I use to collect and trade Bruce Lee memorabilia. I had some 35mm films, photos and the like. I sold all the stuff now as I started traveling a lot and had no where to store it.
About the time I signed up here, I was heavily into the trading of that stuff and a 35mm print of the Green Hornet was one of the things I had recently sold.

I guess that is how I came up with that, even though the images is of Kato (When I was younger i looked a little like that- I am part Asian)

I work with lots of varied kinds of companies, or I did, some of them like to do a name google background checks, and I have known others who lost positions, or were looked at unfavorably because of political rants they may have made online.

I spend a lot of time online and don't like my private opinions, political views or the fact that I have taken thousands of photo grapic images of scantily clad women in the past affect some working relationships that I have had. For that reason and the reason of identity theft, I don't like to use my real name online.

:dankk2:

With the HMC150 and the HV30, they match up real nice when I use scene file 1 and the same shutter speed as the HV30, with the HV30 in shutter priority. I had trouble matching the colors in post when using Cinemode, not that it can't be done.

Tom, have you tried using 24p from both together and do they "look" pretty similar? I have a wedding coming up in two weeks and I want to shoot 24p for the look and because it brings so much more light in. (not to mention I will shoot 60p slowmo stuff and throw it on the timeline as well for some clean slowmo).

Thanks.

I haven't actually tried it yet, but I see no reason why they wouldn't. I'd just keep as many other settings as similar as possible (same shutter speed, etc) and vary the distance of your shots (the HV30 for wider shots and the HMC for closer shots, or vice versa) and they should mix nicely.

Thanks bro! I need to get my friends HV and do a couple test shots.

Is anyone using the Panny AG-HMC70 as a B cam? I'm looking to upgrade from my DVX to HD and am interested in the HMC150, but need to figure out if there is a good B-cam for weddings. Thanks!
