The best 2TB external harddrives?

Hi guys,

I need a 2TB external harddrive. Looking to spend about $200. The closest thing I see in that range is the silver Western Digital. I've got a bunch of WD drives, and they're not bad. So I may just get this one. But I'm seeing a bunch of Cons in all the user reviews, from people who say it goes to sleep randomly and can be quite loud and annoying.

The only other option for a decent 2TB harddrive (w/ both USB and Firewire) is the G-Tech, which is about $289 on NewEgg.

The G-Tech is a flat surface drive though, and I'd really like a vertical one, that "stood" up. (that way it fits on my desk between my other 3).

Any other suggestions for good vertical standing 2TB USB / Firewire drives in the $200 range? Should I just get the silver Western Digi?

I have that western digital. Haven't had any issues with it for about a year now...knock on wood. I like that you can mirror it, so if one drive goes bad, you still have the other, and they are really simple to replace.

That's actually the 1TB you linked.

I think I'm going to get the WD. Thanks for the advice, all.
