Presenting--the April DVXFest entries. Thanks to all the filmmakers that entered this month. Because of the spotty wireless service here at the Best Western motel in Moab, I haven't been able to screen any of the films. So they might very well be filled with sex, violence, copyright violations, and waffles. Anyway, it's up to you to vote for your favorite and thus crown the DVX Waffle King. As always, please post your comments on the film in the Film Discussion forum.

This month's theme is MYSTERY and the required object is a WAFFLE (or similar breakfast food if waffles are unobtainable in your corner of the planet).

*** WARNING SPOLIERS *** - WATCH BEFORE YOU READ

Waffles by User Bischofftep - I like this one, the pupet was scary!, i could honestly feel the suspense, little dialogue made it soo good - i might try that next time. Great idea.

House Detective by User Sean Michael - hey man your driving on the wrong side of the road! i like this one as well! the suspense at the start is great (must be the music), i like the cinematography - the part when the camera looks up at you in the car is really effective in showing your in charge! "im just a house detective" thats hilarious. Top stuff.

Zombie Waffle by User jpbankesmercer - Its not zombie fest yet! I like this one as well! again great suspense build up, i like when it jumps out of the toaster, another great idea, i cant believe you were going to eat that! and finally you did!

Back Stab by User ST (ME) - i like the one i made last month better (Dont Trust Anyone) but i thought i would explain this one...
the title comes from 2 references in the movie: 1. Victim is stabbed in back, 2. Harry goes to put Rob in but Rob finds out Harry was holding back information and says he will put him in if he is put it! (hence the backstab, black mail..).
There was a purpose/message to it (not that it was pulled off very well) - if your unexperienced you should try not to get ahead of yourself or you might stuff it up. (which is what harry did - try to take control of the investigation but stuffs up when Rob finds out he was having an affair with a suspect).
(for the record i think movies without a purpose dont get anywhere even though it may be harder to pull off).
Man i wish i had mystery music!
VOTE ME! ;)

nah honestly if i wasnt in it i would have voted for house detective, thats my fav!

Ummm. Looks like I'm gonna be last..hehe
That stupid bin time-delay took me ages (forgot I had bouncy wooden floor) kept going back to the camera....Should have used the time better. I was in-the-middle of shooting the end for 'Heroes 4 Hire' when I decided to enter. Also all my zombie actors kept dying on me from being soaked with food-colouring. It was'nt fun!!!

Yeah, I'm just downloading the others now, and I just read that House Detectives was the best!! So now I can't see it.....unless, a nice person wants to upload it onto their server temporarily? *wink*

Sorry you guys are having problems with the House Detective download. It seems my file server is having difficulties. Here is a link that should work (at least for the next 100 downloads!). In the meantime, I will work on finding a better hosting solution.

Cheers to all the participants. This has been a great learning experience.
