The 35mm adapter "for the people"

yeah, SD..DVX100b

Somebody get this man an HV30! :)

It looks good, but I have to admit that when I watched the first upload you first posted, I thought it looked soft. At the point you zoom into the street signs over the intersection, I was a little disappointed that you couldn't clearly see the letters. But now that I realize you're shooting SD, it's kind of a different story.

But I'm so used to seeing HD adapter footage on Vimeo, it's kind of tough for me to compare apples to apples. It looks good but I really want to compare it to other adapter footage. Any chance of you getting ahold of an HDV camera or something?

That is amazing! Excellent especially for SD. I'll have to build one of those for my DSR-390L. Just coming in tuesday to play with. Well done sir, well done.

There's a couple of people on the boards that have HD camera's I think that will help test this. I'm gonna try to get something here soon. I'll shoot some better stuff tomorrow. Should be sunny and no rain. I'll get to use more lens too.

If you don't have vimeo, you can go here to d/l it. Just remember to shrink the window to 480 or else it's gonna look like crap.

I noticed that the scratch comes up in some of the footage. I'm not too worried right now because I got another GG that Im getting cut so it will replace this. For now it's just to test grain, sharpness and brightness and so far so good. I'm gonna shoot some footage in my kitchen under a 50w cfl to show how bright it is.

New video. Much of the same. But, now you get to see how awesome the bokeh is.
Gonna render the low light footage tomorrow and upload that. I did a test today to see how far you could zoom in. I use squeeze and i had it at z75 f35. Then I zoomed too z85 z34. With this achromat you can zoom in a whole lot.

Vimeo coming soon. Remember when you're watching it, scale the window down to 480p size. Or else it'll look like garbage.
Shot on DVX-100b no CC. Lens used 28mm and 50mm.

I"m going to make a .pdf in the next few days with parts/prices and links.

I'm also considering building them for people who purchase all the parts for themself and doing it for like $50-25bux. Depending on peoples budgets. Since I have access to a drill press, tap, soldering and what not.

If you d/l the .pdf and find it useful feel free to donate to my paypal. Once you look over it and find it useful!!

Come on Car3o, please give us the parts list so we can order now. We will lose some time on international shipping. Let us save some time.

Oh yeah man, sorry. I'll put up a .pdf tomorrow afternoon. Been caught up with some other stuff, just forgot about it. Nobody really seemed interested anymore.

.pdf is finished. It has all the links right there in the file so you just click and it takes you there.
I can't upload from work but it will be there tomorrow morning.

OOOHHHH man. Your wrong if you thought that nobody was interested any more. This is an awesome project and based on your test footage many people will be using this for their own projects. I know I will. Also, you could make some money off this. You stated in an earlier post something about a drill press (something I don't have) and that you would build the adapter for a fee and that just might be the rute I'll go. But we will see. This is something that the community needs. Independent film makers are always looking for less expensive answers to "really" expensive questions. You found one of those answers.

Personally, I've been checking this thread religiously for updates waiting for the .pdf file.

Anyway, thats my rant for the night. Have a good one.

Exactly, I would love to have this adapter as it does great footage at a really nice price. I mean being in college I think it would help my projects out greatly but I just cant afford to drop 1k on a Letus Extreme/Ultimate/Redrock.
