The 35mm adapter "for the people"

There's a .pdf on the first page of this thread that has a list for every part. You can add it to what you think is best. So I can't really say how much, but from my side of the fence it well under $300.00 including most shipping.

Still very interested in this. I'm not super handy, but I think I could put this together with the forthcoming written instructions.

Tell me, does the back focus control make it unnecessary to dial in the lens to gg distance perfectly during assembly?

The instructions are sort of on the .pdf. It's detailed pictures of every angle to show you how it's put together.

The back focus adjustment is there so you can put the GG on and adjust the mount/lens to the GG instead of the other way around.

Hope that helps.

Questions

Did some search around this thread, couldn't find an answer for these two :
- how did you grind the acrylic sheet to be used as GG ?
- In the .pdf document it appears the motor assembly is mounted onto the box. How do you adjust the flange ?

Thank you for sharing the results of your hard work here .

The glass is already "ground" because it's a piece of p95 matte plastic 1/8" thick. It has the diffusion of a grounded GG already on there to order.
You adjust the flange by the lens mount. The piece of plastic on front of the box that has 3 set screws, it's there to tighten the lens mount down when you hit infinity or when you have the right flange.

Great, now i can stop buying blank Maxell CDs with the hope for getting that almost clear one that all DIY plans are talking about. i have bought 8 spindles from different sources and they all came with 100% clear ones ( no texture ).

To this point i have been using the gutted CD players for motor assembly. For GG, i cut an old 4x5 inch focusing screen and fit it to CD player. It has a good grain but too much of light loss. It wobbles, especially when i tilt or pan a bit fast. ( i know , i know .. i shouldn't do those moves much for pro look ). i have been setting the flange buy moving the plane of my motor assembly in the box. i am going to give your design a try as soon as the parts arrive. It should be interesting. Thanks.
