Thanks to Hien Le and everyone at Letus

I have to say that Hien Le is a first class act. He spent several hours today and yesterday helping me out with a minor problem (nothing to worry about). Also, the Extreme is in a class all by itself (at least in this price range). It's high quality all the way. Stream-lined with the user in mind (VERY VISIBLE led in the back, accurate tape measure rail support bracket, easilly replaceable batteries and clever battery door mount, and did I mention that the Extreme looks OUTSTANDING on the HVX!). Also, the amount of work and extra money that Hien and company put into the Extreme is a testiment to their dedication in bringing us the best that's out there (I know, I sound like a commercial).

I really haven't been able to shoot much so far, but what I've seen coming from this adapter is amazing. I really find the edge to edge sharpness to be excellent and I have no problems what so ever with the bokeh.

Having my conversations with Hien prove to me that his company and his products will be around for a long time.

To anyone sitting on the fence, it's time to jump off.

ps. I know a few secrets, and I'm not telling...

DCP, around 6pm today there will be 2 big fellas in black suits knocking on your front door. I think it's best if you just spill the secrets here and now.

Or the secret might be that soon a few big corporate fellas in black suits and juicy checkbooks may be knocking on Letus Corp's front door. And the price of the Extreme will go extreme!

What? Nothing good to say about FedEx? heehee... (inside joke for DCP)

I just wanted to post a public warning to DCP as well. We have hired over 600 thugs around the world to *assure* secrets are kept. These guys mean business... they will tie you up in DV tape and smack you around with strips of gaffers tape. Yeah, so, uh, look out!

DV tape huh? I feel better since I always thought DV tape was unreliable.

Don't worry about the secrets. Since I've been married, I've learned to keep my mouth shut.

You mean you're not going to tell us about the relay lens for the H1, JVC, and 2/3" cameras, most importantly the hpx500?

Uhm. Footage. (Kidding by the way... no but really.)

I'm shooting some footage tomorrow (Halloween), but these shots will be stationary (for an opening credits seqment). But I do have a larger shoot Nov. 12 with a dolly and camera crane so I'll post some footage after that shoot (of course I'll do some rough editing first).

Just to addon, I got my Letus econ afew days ago and I'm very happy with how easy it is to setup and shoot within seconds.

I'm still trying to figure out whats the best scene settings for the adaptor and DVX if I wanna shoot flat with the most detail as possible.

Heres a test footage I shot.. with nikon 50mm

And with all the good words and secrets going around, I acutally really wished I got the extreme.

Two thumbs up to Letus.

Hobbes, how were you able to achieve the zooms if you were shooting with a prime? Were you simply zooming using the camera's built-in lens?

Yes I was using the camera's built-in lens... its my first time shooting with an adapter - does the footage looks fine?

*Letus, is the trade in deal for the EX still on? I cant find it on the website

Footage looked great - I'm surprised you were able to zoom out as much as you did on the GG - really says a lot for the image size - zooms looked great.

nicely done for the first time with an adapter.

cheno

- also loved the music piece - who was it by?

The trade in was for previous Flip owners who ordered within 60 days before the release of the Extreme.

Have you already outgrown your Economy? ;)

Chenopop, if u were on the DVX, the min. zoom would be "75" to avoid any vignetting (thats what I got)
So I had from 77-99 zoom units onwards to play with.

Music from Angels & Airwaves, check out their album - they always have 1min of awesome sound before they start singing (I think one of their band members was frm blink182)

DeGrey! can I pay $300 for the extreme =D
(U can check out my order, i think i just got it 1 week ago)
